This is the fashionaim.org.uk website. Your use of this website is subject to the following terms and conditions, which you are deemed to accept each time you use this website.
1. General
This website is the property of the University of the Arts London of 65 Davies Street, London W1K 5DA (UAL).
‘UAL’ consists of five internationally renowned colleges, Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Chelsea College of Art and Design, London College of Communication and London College of Fashion.
2. Interruptions and Omissions in Service
Whilst UAL tries to ensure that the standard of this website remains high and to maintain the continuity of it, the internet is not an inherently stable medium, and errors, omissions, interruptions of service and delays may occur at any time. UAL does not accept any liability arising from any such errors, omissions, interruptions or delays or any ongoing obligation or responsibility to operate this website (or any particular part of it) or to provide the services offered on this website. We may vary the specification of this site from time to time without notice.
3. Copyright
You agree to abide by all applicable laws, regulations and codes of conduct and ensure that any content uploaded or distributed or stored by you does not infringe the rights of others.
This website contains copyright material, trade names and other proprietary information, including but not limited to, design, text, software and graphics. All material on this website (‘the content’) is protected by copyright law. UAL, or its licensors, own copyright and/or database rights in the selection, coordination, arrangement and enhancement of such content, as well as in the content original to it. You may not modify, publish, transmit, participate in the transfer or sale, create derivative works, or in any way exploit, any of the content, in whole or in part except as provided below.
Except as otherwise expressly permitted under copyright law, no copyright, redistribution, retransmission, publication or commercial exploitation of downloaded material will be permitted without our express permission and that of the copyright owner. In the event of any permitted copying, redistribution or publication of copyright material, no changes in or deletion of author attribution, trademark legend or copyright notice shall be made. You acknowledge that you do not acquire any ownership rights by downloading copyright material. Requests to republish, redistribute or syndicate content should be addressed to your moderator
4. Acceptable Use Policy
In accessing this website, you agree not to:
4.1. impersonate another person or use a false name or a name you are unauthorised to use or create a false identity or e-mail address or try to mislead others as to the identity or origin of any communications
4.2. make available or upload files that contain software or other material, data or information not owned or licensed to you without their prior consent
4.3. damage, interfere with or disrupt access to this website or do anything which may interrupt or impair its functionality
4.4. publish, post, distribute, disseminate or otherwise transmit defamatory, offensive, infringing, obscene, indecent or other unlawful or objectionable material or information
4.5. threaten, harass, stalk, abuse, disrupt or otherwise violate the rights (including rights of privacy and publicity) of others
4.6. make available, upload or distribute by any means any material or files that contain any viruses, bugs, corrupt data, “trojan horses”, “worms” or any other harmful software
4.7. falsify the true ownership of software or other material or information contained in files made available via this website
4.8. obtain or attempt to obtain unauthorised access, through whatever means, to this website. contravene any of the registration requirements set out in clause 5 below
UAL retains the absolute right to prevent you from accessing this website without notice and without prejudice to any of our accrued rights, where UAL in our reasonable discretion consider that you are contravening our Acceptable Use Policy or any other term or condition of these Terms and Conditions.
5. Registration
Where any parts of this website require that you register in order to use them, you are obliged to provide accurate and complete registration information. It is your responsibility to update and maintain any changes to that information (including your e-mail address) by altering your details as appropriate. UAL must be notified via the update procedure whenever your details change. The update procedure is easy to follow, and is included in the registration section of this website. If you update your information, the new information will replace the old registration information stored on UAL’s internal system.
Registration is for a single user only. On registration, where required you must choose a user name and password. We do not allow any of the following:
5.1. any other person sharing your user name and password or pin number
5.2. access through a single user name and password or pin number being made available to multiple users on a network
UAL will not be liable for any unauthorised transactions made using your user name and password. You must notify UAL immediately if you believe that someone else knows your password or if it may be used in an unauthorised way. When you register to use this website, you will be obliged to click on an icon indicating that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
You will not be allowed to register unless you indicate your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and any other terms and conditions that may apply.
6. Information submitted by you
UAL will use information supplied by you (including, without limitation, sensitive personal data) to aid the recruitment process and associated administrative functions. This involves us, amongst other things, processing and storing information (including, without limitation, sensitive personal data) and passing or making available online such information to prospective employers and clients; information about vacancies and placements will be passed to candidates and may be posted directly onto the website. UAL use third parties to help us process your information as part of the recruitment process.
UAL may collect and aggregate data from the information supplied by you to help us to understand our users as a group so that we can provide you with a better service. We may also share aggregate information with selected third parties, without disclosing individual names or identifying information. You consent to us using information provided by you (including, without limitation, sensitive personal data) in each of these ways.
You are able to select via this website on the registration form whether your CV should be made available to third party recruitment agencies via our searchable CV database. You may hide your details from our searchable database at any time, by visiting the ‘Contact Details’ option of your Profile and updating the relevant options.
Please note that all Third Party recruitment agencies have agreed to our Terms and Conditions and should they be found to be in breach of the Terms and Conditions, they will be prevented from using our services.
UAL will process any data, which you provide in completing the online registration or application forms and any further forms, assessments, or personal details, which you complete or provide to us when using this site in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
Personal information comprising your CV may be accessed through the website database by third parties outside the Economic European Area (“EEA”). This could happen for instance if you apply for a vacancy where the employer is based outside the EEA. By registering and using this website, you consent to this transfer.
7. Payment
Where any services offered via this website require payment:
7.1. All amounts payable must be paid in full in pounds sterling (unless otherwise indicated) without any deductions or set offs.
7.2. If any payment is rejected or refused or you default in payment, the amount owing will be treated as overdue and we will be entitled immediately to cease or suspend the provision of the relevant service to you until payment has been received.
7.3. You must be the bill payer of the particular method of payment that you use to pay for any service, or alternatively you must get the prior permission of the bill payer.
8. Information on this Site
UAL has made every effort to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and complete. However, third parties supply some of the information to us and we are not able to check the accuracy or completeness of that information. UAL does not accept any liability arising from any inaccuracy or omission in any of the information on this website or any liability in respect of information on this website supplied by you, any other site user or any other person.
9. Liability
9.1. UAL accepts no liability for any loss (whether direct or indirect, for loss of business, revenue or profits, wasted expenditure, corruption or destruction of data or for any other indirect or consequential loss whatsoever) arising from your use of this website and we hereby exclude any such liability, whether in contract, tort (including for negligence) or otherwise.
9.2. UAL hereby excludes all representations, warranties and conditions relating to this website and your use of it to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold UAL and any of our officers, employees and agents harmless from and against all and any expenses, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses incurred or suffered and any claims or legal proceedings which are brought or threatened, in each case arising from your use of, or conduct on, this website and/or a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy and/or any of these Terms and Conditions.
11. Changes
UAL reserve the right to make changes to or withdraw any of the services described in any part of this website at any time without notice. Due to our policy of updating and improving this website, it may therefore be necessary to change these Terms and Conditions. If we do change the terms of these Terms and Conditions, we will update the date at the bottom of this page.
If you use this website after we have published such changes, you will be agreeing to be bound by those changes. If you do not agree to be bound by them, you should not use this website.
12. Termination
UAL may terminate the provision of this website or restrict your access to this website without any prior notice to you where (by way of example and without limitation):
12.1. there is a regulatory or statutory change limiting our ability to provide a website
12.2. any event beyond our reasonable control prevents us from continuing to provide a website (for example, without limitation, technical difficulties, capacity problems and communications failures)
12.3. there is any reason to believe that you are abusing the services provided by a website or are otherwise acting in breach of these Terms and Conditions
13. Choice of Law and Jurisdiction
13.1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and you irrevocably agree that the courts of England shall (subject to clause 13.2 below) have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute which may arise out of, under, or in connection with, these Terms and Conditions
13.2. UAL shall retain the right to bring proceedings as to the substance of the matter in any court or courts including, if appropriate, in the courts of your country of residence or, where these Terms and Conditions are entered into in the course of your trade or profession, the country of your principal place of business.
13.3. Some of the services offered through this website may not be lawful or may not otherwise be permitted in certain countries outside the United Kingdom. If you attempt to purchase or otherwise benefit from any such services through this website, we do not accept any liability for any losses suffered by you in using this website which you would not have suffered had you been accessing this website as a United Kingdom resident (including as a result of us being prevented from dealing with any application or enquiry by any law, regulation or other ruling applicable I any country).
14. Data Protection
Under the terms of the 1998 Data Protection Act, UAL must comply with certain regulations that are designed to ensure that any data you provide to us is processed with due care and attention. All data is securely held by UAL and will be treated confidentially. No data will be disclosed to any third parties.
Data is used internally for a full range of marketing activities, including mailing publications, the promotion of benefits, services and programmes, and the notification of events to you. Under the terms of the 1998 Data Protection Act you may request that your data is not used for any of the above purposes.
